Ildy Modrovich is a former rock singer who spent eleven years fronting The Heavy Woolies on the Los Angeles club circuit before breaking into television by attaching John Woo to a pilot she co-wrote for FX. The UCLA theater graduate went on to staff on CSI: Miami for five seasons, then crossed over to drama as a supervising producer on the first season of Californication. She has since written and produced for Eleventh Hour (CBS), Three Rivers (CBS), Forever (ABC), and co-executive produced three seasons of Necessary Roughness (USA).  

Her development credits include an American adaptation of Wire in the Blood, adaptations of James Patterson's Michael Bennett series, the travel memoir The Lost Girls, Anna Dressed in Blood, and Rebecca Chance's Sam Jones series for Amazon — as well as a murder-mystery reimagining of Carrie Underwood's "Two Black Cadillacs" for Fox with Underwood, JBTV, and WBTV.  

Modrovich then executive produced, wrote, and showran Lucifer — first for Fox, then Netflix — across six seasons. The series remains one of Netflix's ten most-watched originals of all time and was the platform's most-streamed original series of 2021. It earned a People's Choice Award and a Critics Choice nomination, and continues to trend globally. 

She is currently developing two series for Amazon: an adaptation of Frieda McFadden's bestseller Dear Debbie and a reimagining of the 1998 film Disturbing Behavior. Her debut novel, The Not-So-Good Girl, sold to Hachette's Grand Central imprint, is set for publication in 2027. She is also making her comicbook debut as co-creator and writer of East Side Saints, a series publishing through Ignition, co-written with Aimee Garcia and AJ Mendez.  

A Southern California native, Modrovich lives in the Valley with her two very weird dogs — and still jams with her band whenever she can.
