Ignition Sequence: SDCC – Innovation in Collectability Available at Ignition Press Room
Los Angeles, CA (July 22, 2025) – Ignition Press proudly revealed today that each of their comic books will feature a randomized serial number unique to each individual copy. The innovation in comic book collectability debuts on copies of Murder Podcast: The Cold Open, which was originally offered through a successful campaign on Kickstarter that fulfilled this week.
The serial number will be randomized prior to printing to ensure low and high numbers are distributed throughout the print run. The total numbers will correspond to the total print run for each cover version with a small percentage of extra numbers to cover any damages during the printing process. For example, Murder Podcast: The Cold Open main cover by Jeremy Haun and Nick Filardiwill feature numbers ranging from one to approximately two thousand six hundred and fifty, while Murder Podcast: The Cold Open limited-edition cover by Mike Tisserand and Nick Filardi will feature numbers ranging from one to approximately four hundred and fifty.
These one-of-a-kind serial numbers are also featured on the publisher’s previously announced comics that are debuting at the Ignition Press Room, the publisher’s boutique pop-up, during Comic-Con International in San Diego (SDCC) this week. This includes Deluge: The Cold Open by Cullen Bunn and Marika Cresta, NO Place: The Cold Open by Tim Seeley and Stefano Simeone, Voyeur: First Look by Leah Williams and David Baldeón, and Ignition Press: 2025 First Look featuring The Beauty by Jeremy Haun, Jason A. Hurley, and Ema Lupacchino, Roots of Madness by Stephanie Williams and Letizia Cadonici, and Arcadia by the Miranda Brothers. Remaining copies of Murder Podcast: The Cold Open will also be available for purchase.
“From our earliest conversations, we wanted to build an authentic community around Ignition Press as a brand,” added Ignition Press Publisher Filip Sablik. “Meeting potential readers where they are, including at experiential activations like the Ignition Press Room, is a key tenet of our approach. At the same time, we embrace the inherent collectability of comic books in a way that rewards the thrill of the chase and long-term collectors.”
